Using creativity to cultivate happiness, be present and find harmony.

Each week will be focused around a theme and will include a guided meditation/visualization, creativity, reflection and conversation.

Mindful art is about expressing yourself. It’s about trusting what comes. It’s about investing in yourself. It's like this... Close your eyes and take three deep breaths. Visualize the first time you fell in love (stay with this moment as long as you need). Open your eyes. Try and write about this experience using only words. Now try and express this in shape and colour. Easier, right?

IMAGINE sitting in a quiet room with like minded peopled TRUSTING what comes.

IMAGINE giving yourself permission to go into the deepest parts of yourself, in order to re-connect with YOU.

So you’re not an “artist”, neither am I. That doesn’t mean you can’t create for the sake of creating.

I can already hear you saying...

  • "I'm not good enough"

  • "I'm afraid of what will come"

  • "I can't draw anything other than stick people"

  • "I worry about what other people will think"

  • There is another voice: "This time might be different"

AND that voice would be right! You will find (like those before you), that it just doesn't matter how "good" you are. It's about showing up, being real and allowing yourself to be YOU. You can leave the rest to me. We will be communicating in shape & colour not in judgements and self-expectations.

Everyone has the ability to express themselves & you deserve this.

90 mins will be spent:

  • Connection… lots of connecting, with yourself & others

  • Guided mindful exercise

  • Open ended creativity time

  • Reflection & time for journaling

The energy and joy I felt after my first class with Kayla was amazing! The night was everything I wanted: relaxing, soulful, heart-opening, and creative. It allowed me to connect with myself while Kayla guided us through a lovely meditation and art class. I’m not creative at all but it was easy with the endless art supplies and having the opportunity  to create without the fuss or the mess! Be kind to yourself and sign up for a class, it might be the best night you’ve had with yourself in a while!

LOCATION: 400 - 1118 Broad St (stair access only)

Who is this workshop for?
YOU! Anyone. Everyone. Are you feeling bogged down with duties and responsibilities of life? Are you looking for a place to play, have some fun and feel grounded again. You will develop greater trust in your intuition, your inner guidance and your authenticity.

Do I have to be "good" at art?
First things first, "good" is a matter of opinion and here "opinions" are not part of the process. I personally guarantee that you and your creativity will feel embraced and validated. Your personal expression will be encouraged to bloom, blossom and grow like some wild beautiful prairie crisium!

Do I have to have experience with meditation?
No, this is not the Eat, Pray Love version where you sit in robes and meditate in silence for hours. This is the kind of meditation that flows, is easy and most importantly short.

When we express our ideas and feelings in a form through expressive arts, we have the opportunity to say, “This is me. I exist. This is how I feel & see the world”.
