The yelling isn't the part that keeps you up. The guilt after is.
Mom Rage Counselling with Kayla Huszar
If you've watched your kid's face after you lost it and thought "what is wrong with me" - you're in the right place.
Yes, benefit coverage eligible, too!
Not in AB, SK OR ON, Canada? Let’s get you where you need to be!
If this sounds like you
You didn't mean to lose it like that. But you did. And you feel like sh*t.
You know what triggered it. Something small, probably. A question asked for the fifth time. A sock on the floor - an actual sock, just lying there like it crawled out of the laundry basket and gave up. Your name, said in that particular way.
You reacted harder than the moment called for. And you saw their face.
Now you're in the aftermath. Replaying it. Watching for signs of damage. Googling things you immediately regret Googling. Telling yourself you'll do better next time - while knowing you've told yourself that before. Probably last Tuesday.
You're not confused about what's happening. You know you're exhausted and running on nothing and doing the work of three people while everyone around you needs something. What you can't figure out is why knowing all of that doesn't make it stop. And what to actually do in the hours after, when the guilt is louder than everything else.
Lose it less. Know what to do when you do.
Through this work, you can:
We might be a fit if this sounds familiar.
Is this right for you?
You're doing your best. You're also yelling more than you want to. And the gap between those two things is where the guilt lives.
The pattern goes like this. Something happens - something that shouldn't be a big deal but somehow is. You react louder and scarier than the moment called for. You see their face. And then the shame spiral starts and it's a whole thing and it takes the rest of the day.
You've tried deep breathing. Counting to ten. Walks around the block. Leaving the room. The four-seven-eight breathing technique from that article you bookmarked. They help sometimes. But the pattern keeps coming back because none of it touches what's actually driving it.
That's what this work is for. And it doesn't require becoming a different person.
This work asks something of you.
Some willingness to look at what's underneath the anger - not just at the anger itself.
If right now you're just trying to get through the week and that's genuinely not possible, that's okay. Start with the Repair Workshop
and come back when you're ready.

Meet your therapist
I'm Kayla Huszar.
I'm a registered social worker and mom guilt therapist - featured in Maclean's Magazine (Apple News Best of 2025) and on CBC's The Current talking about the pressures of parenting and getting it right. Rage and guilt travel together, and I work specifically on what both of them do to mothers.
I have lost it at my kids. I have sat in the aftermath and hated myself for it. I know the specific exhaustion of trying to parent differently than you were parented with no real model for what that looks like on a Thursday at 5pm when everyone is hungry and nobody will stop touching you.
That's what shapes how I work. We figure out what's driving the anger - and what to do after it shows up.
The next step
If you're feeling drawn to this work, the next step is a free 20-minute conversation.
We'll talk about what you're carrying and figure out together whether working with me makes sense - and if so, where to start.
Regardless of whether we work together, you'll leave with a clearer sense of what your next step is. Sometimes that's working with me. Sometimes it's something else. Either way, you'll know more than you do now.

From the spiral - to knowing what to do next.
The shift this work creates
Right now Losing it. Watching their face. Spending the rest of the day in the guilt spiral. Promising yourself it won't happen again. Knowing you've promised that before.
After this work
Losing it sometimes. Knowing how to repair. Getting back to yourself and them faster. The guilt spiral has an exit now.
The research on this is clear: repair is the biggest predictor of kids who turn out okay. Not perfection. Not never losing your sh*t again. Repair.
When you know how to circle back - when the aftermath stops lasting all day - that's when things actually change. For you and for them.
